We were contacted during a grant application process by the Thomas MacDonagh Museum to provide information and pricing for three Table display cases and one large acrylic showcase to display a banner. During the consultation, we discussed some of the access issues – namely a narrow staircase to navigate, but that the requirement for display was the large case. Working with the staff, we were able to help design a suitable set of showcases, that could be installed via the staircase, but would meet the conservation requirements for the artefacts to be displayed.
Once the Thomas MacDonagh Museum had received confirmation of their successful grant award, we were able to confirm designs and specifications for each of the display cases, and begin construction.
We delivered the cases in early November 2023, and were greeted by a very enthusiastic and helpful staff at what was Thomas MacDonagh’s parental home in Cloughjordan, Co. Tipperary. The biographical museum is an absolute treasure, really engrossing the visitor in the life and times of Thomas MacDonagh, and the enthusiasm for and love of the collection is evident.
Thank you for showing us around and for your hospitality!
