We are Patrick, Lorraine, and Natasha and we run our family business from our converted Railway Station in Newbliss, County Monaghan. We have been involved in the museum and heritage world since the 1980s. Organically growing since Patrick’s early days as a technician in Monaghan County Museum (which involved building scaled dioramas for display), through conservation picture framing in London, to Museum Display, storage and conservation supplies for the heritage sector on the Island of Ireland since 2004.
Over more than thirty years in the framing industry, we have worked with an extraordinary range of items and clients—everything from an original Monet to a pair of Y-fronts. Our customer base is just as diverse, including major organisations such as Ford, Inland Revenue, British Gas, Paramount Pictures, BT, RTÉ, Parker Pen, Dublin and Shannon Airports, and No.10 Downing Street. We have also proudly served museums, hotels, councils, churches, schools, banks, credit unions, clubs, photographers, artists, and countless private individuals—including presidents, prime ministers, and well-known figures from television and film.
Since then, we have worked across the sector in both freelance roles and direct employment with county and subject-specific museums. Natasha also holds a Master’s degree in Digital Humanities, specialising in the digitisation of historic documents. This combination of practical and academic experience gives us a valuable perspective—not only in understanding how the products are used, but also in how best to supply them.
With two generations working side by side, we bring both sector knowledge and product expertise to our daily work. We source exclusively from trusted manufacturers, primarily within the European Union, to minimise our carbon footprint and manage costs, and we partner only with the most reputable names in the industry.
Twenty+ Years of Business in Newbliss
Our customers today are as varied as ever, ranging from individual conservators to the National Museums, from fit-out companies to local heritage committees, Light house to Cathedral, Libraries to Workhouse.
Living in History at our Old Railway Station – “we live work, rest and play history”
Close to our hearts is our impact on nature, the environment and the wildlife that surrounds our home and business. We have created a wild flower meadow and each year add by planting more trees, hedgerows, fruits and berries preserving and building on the wildlife that has existed here for hundreds of years.
As a family and a business we have always been committed to reducing our environmental impact and would like to think that we have been environmentally responsible at the same time making a positive contribution to the health and sustainability of the environment. All our production waste is converted into smaller components, and even what remains from these is reused as packing material and if at all possible all packing material supplied to us reused.
All wood products are sourced from FSC certified suppliers. Any glues and paints used are to conservation standard, water based and environmentally friendly.
We are the only company in Ireland to use 100% recycled green board in the manufacture of our archival boxes.
