We were delighted to be back at the National Maritime Museum of Ireland in Dun Laoghaire for a third time! This time we had the pleasure of bringing with us a third case to house a flag, currently under conservation, that will form part of the collection that once belonged to Captain Robert Halpin DL JP RNR FRGS, Master Mariner (b.1836-d.1894) from Tinakilly, Co. Wicklow. Over the past 3 years, we have supplied a Mannequin sized case to display his uniform, and another (pictured) to house some of his personal effects.
The case delivered in October was entirely bespoke made to specific dimensions in order to comfortably house Captain Halpin’s flag.
As always, the staff were very accommodating and it was a real pleasure to see the cases previously delivered in situ and with the artefacts displayed.
