- Dimensions single: 35 x 66 x 2 mm (L x W x H)
Crawling Insect monitor traps are particularly suitable for use in museums, storages and archives. You can detect with their use, a whole range of harmful insects such as cockroaches, beetle and moth species.
The traps are used:
- as an early warning system to react as early as possible in insect infestation and to prevent greater spread can.
- for the exact localization of a current infestation. Set the traps up so that they gradually encircle the affected area.
- to check the success of a pest treatment.
The sticky traps are a tool to determine if, how much and what types of insects are in a building. You can then decide if there is a need for action or if the insect population does not exceed a tolerable level. The sticky traps themselves are not a suitable means of pest control, they reduce the existing population only marginally.
Application
For crawling insects, place the traps on the ground in corners or close to the wall to take advantage of the usual pathways of the insects. A placement in the middle of free space will not give a realistic result. Hang the traps from the ceiling for flying insects.
The usual effective time frame for the adhesive traps is usually half a year, but you should check every now and then for their stickiness. Traps with attractant (food bait or pheromones) are effective for shorter periods, especially the pheromone attractant, you must be renew the bait every 6-8 weeks.
It is advisable to record the placement of the traps on a floor plan and to note the date of installation on the traps themselves. Check the traps at regular intervals. In the case of acute insect infestation, check the traps more often.
Check the traps regularly and remove the trapped insects, otherwise they can serve as a source of food for other insect species and thus cause another pest problem. To determine any pest control measures you may need to take, you should identify the insects found according to their species and life stage. Document the “catch” of each trap carefully with date, location, species of crawling insect and its life stage
