Founded by husband and wife Patrick & Lorraine Martin, Darac is a family run business which has evolved out of our initial model making company. Most acclaimed of these are the reconstruction
models of a Crannóg, a Court Tomb and the Black Pigs Dyke, on display since 1983 in Monaghan County Museum, which is where Patrick started his career as assistant technician. These formative years have been invaluable in the
framing of objects, artefacts and in particular the know-how of handling work for conservation purposes.
Over the past thirty years of framing, both in London and here in Ireland, we have framed an eclectic mix of items, from an original Monet to a pair of Y Fronts, and for a truly varied selection of
customers such as, Ford, Inland Revenue, British Gas, Paramount Pictures, BT, RTE, Parker Pen, Dublin & Shannon Airport, No.10 Downing St., Museums, Hotels, Councils, Churches, Schools, Banks, Credit Unions, Clubs,
Photographers, Artists and numerous private customers including Presidents, Prime Ministers, TV & movie personalities.
The Percy French Collection of water colours and memorabilia for Cavan County Museum framed to full museum standards it will be enjoyed and protected for future generations. For Monaghan County
Museum’s ‘From a Whisper to a Roar’ exhibition, we had the pleasure of framing a selection of ephemera relating to Monaghan at the time of the 1916 rebellion. For the GAA Museum the delicate framing of their
1920s New York Captains Jersey.
As dedicated conservation framers, we offer a complete framing service, from full museum and conservation to standard level. With our unrivalled portfolio of frames and mouldings we are able to give
experienced, objective and unpretentious advice making recommendations that will work within specified budgets.
Continuously evolving, combining our acquired knowledge and years of experience we have designed a range of museum and gallery display cases, made here in Ireland. Supplied to Museums,
Libraries, cultural and heritage centres around Ireland from Clonakilty to Fanad Head.
